We’re celebrating a new milestone: the launch of our first mentorship programme cohort!
Kiwis in Climate is a network of almost 400 experts and practitioners in climate and sustainability. Our members come from all sectors and experience levels, with careers spanning grassroots advocacy to international diplomacy.
Recognising the unique skill and experience in our network, it’s long been our dream to host a mentorship programme that can develop and celebrate talent in the New Zealand climate community.
We recently saw this become a reality with the launch of our first mentorship cohort!
This year’s first mentorship cohort features 40 KiC members based all around Aotearoa and the world.
Our mentees range from new graduates, to mid-career professionals aiming for a sector transition, to senior leaders looking for growth.
Mentors are from all walks of life, coming from sectors such as the zero-waste industry, international climate finance, local government, and the start-up world.
One thing they all have in common? A commitment to climate action, and to growing as professionals in the sustainability field.
Mentors and mentees have each been paired with a partner who fits their unique career profile and aspirations.
Now, over the next 6 months, they’ll meet regularly to reflect on their career trajectories, share lessons, expand their networks, and set goals for growth.
We can’t wait to see how they progress.
