2050 Climate Targets open letter
Working to strengthen targets in the direction of the Climate Change Commission’s
advice will maintain a depoliticised approach to climate change action.

Against a backdrop of the weakening of biogenic methane targets, a small working group of expert KiC members submitted an open letter to the prime minister, to advocate for government support and respect for cross-parliamentary approach to New Zealand's legislated 2050 climate change targets.
As professionals passionate about Aotearoa New Zealand’s future prosperity and desirability, Kiwis in Climate urges the government to seek parliamentary agreement on strengthening these targets in the direction of the Climate Change Commission’s advice.
